Russel Quadros
Concept & Executioner
Because what it means is more important than how it looks.
- My Story
-
I’ve been creating ever since I picked up a crayon to “redecorate” my parents’ walls. Since then, I took every art class my school offered, a graphic design class in high school, and the Graphic Design program at SCAD. More importantly, I’ve been in the professional design industry for more than 12 years, branding online and offline to create cohesive visual designs. Lately I’ve been focused on integrating logic and concept into my designs, along with a meticulous attention to craft and detail.
Besides the nine-to-fiver, I’ve also spent most of my career heavily involved on the local board of AIGA, the professional association for design, even serving as chapter president for three years. I’m constantly trying to educate myself, so whenever I can hit up a lecture or conference, I do … and when I don’t have a pencil in one hand, I hopefully have a drink in the other.
- Believe It Or Not
-
I was born and raised in Kuwait, and lived through the 1990-91 Gulf War.
- On The Nightstand
-
A pencil and notepad (for those mid-late-night-semi-inspired moments).
- On The Bookshelf
-
My “bookshelf” is mostly digital these days, but anything on branding and/or design is in there.
- Guilty Pleasure
-
Randomly identifying the names of typefaces.
- Greatest Fear
-
Failing. And Falling. Although I guess technically, falling IS failing.
