My Story

I created my first website in 1994 and have been kicking ass ever since. I co-authored two books, Pro CSS Techniques with Dan Rubin and Ian Lloyd, and Web Standards Creativity with several of web designs’ big players. I also was listed as one of the 30 most influential people in web design.

My travels take me around the world, talking about design and promoting web standards and other best practices. If you should happen to run into me somewhere and I corner you with talk of “Django,” you’ll need to know the safe word — “karaoke.”
