Rink Design Partnership
Rink Design’s planned and built environments are created to enhance communities and advance both the art and discipline of design. With every project, they work to create not only new places, but also new schools of thought.
Approach
Rink is an architectural firm full of cool architects, interior designers and landscapers. They approached nGen Works to create the company’s new identity as they went through both a name and culture change. The new identity had to reflect their sense of style and create a single mark that encompassed their many disciplines.
All of the partnering companies had similar identity utilizing a square element. Incorporating a “box” type element meant the new identity could stay connected with the previous designs and act as a strong base for the new logo. To play on this further, a heavy type treatment was used for the company name “Rink.” The mark had to be both serious and progressively modern because they were creating some remarkable spaces. The color palette revolved around earth tones to bring a human element to the structures, and offered color difference to identify the different disciplines. Given the many uses for the logo, it was critical it stayed flexible enough to work effectively in both vertical and horizontal executions.
