Approach

Few area residents would need directions to this riverfront landmark in downtown Jacksonville, but its previous website didn’t reflect The Jacksonville Landing’s status as the city’s central gathering spot for ongoing activities and hundreds of events held there every year. The property’s owner came to nGen Works for a site that not only highlighted The Landing’s restaurants, nightlife, shopping and entertainment, but was also easier for users to navigate. Our goal was to create a site that expressed The Landing’s energy, action and color, and enticed people from around the city to come share that excitement. We chose a modern typeface to push the look forward but included details with an archival feel that point to the historical and nautical themes found throughout the property.

The previous site’s use of Flash made it difficult for the client to do timely updates, so we built the new site with an easy-to-use content management system. The final result is a site that gives our client control of the content and gives users an experience as lively as The Landing itself.
