New Beginnings
There comes a time in every creative shop where talented people look for new challenges. This is one of those times for nGen Works.
Varick Rosete and Travis Schmeisser have been instrumental in leading nGen Works to national prominence. Now they are ready to shift gears and find new ways to apply their talents to other endeavors.
Travis will be moving to New York and taking a position with 80/20, an interface design studio whose founders are behind such great products as Apple’s Aperture and MobileMe. We’re excited for him and look forward to using the applications he’ll be designing over the next several years. We always knew he’d end up in a major market and we’re proud to say he was an nGeneer for 5 years. His leadership and talent will be missed.
Varick feels so bad for kicking the web’s ass for 6 years he’s decided to pick on motion graphics and video from now on. The good news is he’ll still be providing nGen with illustration support so crowd favorites like Happy Webbies can keep on keepin on. Varick was a founding member of nGen Works and his influence on the company will continue to be felt. Mainly because we’re counting on him to keep singing El Scorcho on nGen Rockband Fridays.
While we can’t replace a couple of rock stars like Travis and Varick, we are currently talking with some very talented people around the country and will have some additional updates in the weeks and months to come.
We ask you to join us in thanking Travis and Varick for the amazing contributions they’ve made to nGen Works and wishing them the best in their new adventures. Give ‘em hell boys!

We love your EE plugins, like Structure. I know Travis did a lot with EE stuff, are you all going to continue to develop your plugins after he leaves?
Wow. Best of luck to you guys. I hope the transition goes smoothly for everyone.
Good luck Travis and Varick!
tearsbut HAY! Good luck to your future outlook! We will always be around here! :DWhat????? No way! Must know more!
Wow…so much going on over there lately, but it sounds like it’s all positive! I can tell you from personal experience changes provide the opportunity for growth and improvement so I wish you all the best of luck.
Looking forward to seeing where the changes take everyone. And I agree with Corey – sounds like a rockband blowout is necessary :-)
Rock on, Dudes V & T. And yes, Dudes with capital Ds.

Big changes are all around us, but I’m thinking their all good ones! Best of luck to y’all and to nGenworks going forward. I’ve no doubt there will be some serious rocking going on in the future. :)
Big congrats to Travis and Varick, both of whom I think the world of and hope to work with at some point. You guys are brilliant, and nGen will always have your mark stamped on it…which is a good thing.
As for nGenWorks itself, Carl’s a great business mind and the nGen brand has more than enough street cred in this community to attract some of the best designers out there. I have no doubt nGen will keep on rockin’.
P.S. Carl, call me. ;)
Travis: I am sad to see such a talented, business savvy guy leave the Jacksonville area, but I wish you the best of luck up in NYC. I have nothing but confidence that you will continue to do great things, no matter where you are.
Varick: Not sure if you are staying in town or heading off to follow your motion graphic dreams, but I wish you the best. And it is time that I said this out loud – you give much better hugs than Carl or Travis.
Carl, Fred, Lori: Hang on for a very fun ride! After talking to Carl I am pretty sure you guys are about to have a very exciting and successful next few years.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone! Much appreciated.
Structure will be coming with me, but nGen has several other add-ons in the works I’ve helped work on and will be released before too long. I’m sure there’s more great EE code will continue to come.
Best of luck to Varick, Travis and all of the nGen Works family as a whole. Hey, you too, Joey. :)
Do what you gotta do! Life’s path is never set in stone! Best of luck to you both!
Wow! I’m in shock! Travis AND Varick are leaving… oh wait a minute… I knew that.
Thanks to everyone for the positive words. Travis and V are two world class dudes and I have no doubt we’re all gonna keep kickin ass. Give em hell boys!

Best of luck to both Travis and Varick on their new endeavors! Being an nGen fan, I have complete faith that you guys will continue to find ways to keep kicking ass and taking names. Carl, if you need anything what so ever, all you gotta do is ask!
Travis and Varick – Best wishes for the future. You guys have done some amazing work over the years with nGen and I know you’ll continue to kick butt in the new positions.
Carl – M’boy, grab ahold of that wheel, steer into the wind and full steam ahead.
