The Superest Guest Spot

The Superest is a site that revolves around the game of “My Team, Your Team.” Created by the awesomely talented and creative minds of Kevin Cornell and Matt Sutter, the two take turns drawing superheroes with each one getting the best of the previous one to become the current champ.

This past weekend I was invited to be a “guester” on The Superest. I had the task of defeating Friday’s hero, Deadline, and his power to create panic. How ironic.

This was some task. I’ve got a page of notes trying to figure out how to beat this guy. At first, I took it from the angle of beating a “deadline” with heroes like the Rush Chargers and the Over Knight. Then there was the angle of people who didn’t care like slackers, procrastinators, stoners and gamblers in Vegas who just had no concept of time. I finally circled back to think about Deadline’s power of the “aura of panic.” What eases panic? Relaxation. I actually had a toss up between a Hare Krishna with peace bombs or a masseuse with magic fingers, but since Hare Krishnas can stress me out, I went with the masseuse.

So here it is…
