Awhile ago, I stumbled upon a site that I thought was just an amazing idea. What would a kid’s drawing look like if it were painted realistically? Artist Dave DeVries got the idea of transforming childrens’ sketches into paintings when his niece had gotten hold of his sketchbook and drew in it. He said that her character literally came to life when he saw it. Thus, the idea of the Monster Engine was born.
Monster Engine has become a huge success for Devries where he now goes on tour to both colleges and elementary schools alike, giving demonstrations on skills, as well as information and entertainment for the kids about art.
