The Color of Munny

Recently, nGen Works helped sponsor a gallery event that pushed the Jacksonville art scene to another level. Organized by nGen Works’ own Joey Marchy, Joey collected a handful of artists that were up for the challenge of creating artwork with toys, in particular, the Munny, an urban icon in the world of Adult Vinyl Toys created by Kidrobot. Artists were encouraged to use whatever they had: paint, pencils, pens, crayons, cotton…you name it.
The show featured the likes of Dan May, Shaun Thurston, Levi Ratliff and yours truly, to name a few. Turnout was great and there were some really cool-looking Munnys.
You can catch photos from the show from these peeps:
If you missed the show the first time and really want to see the pieces up close, you can catch it again at the upcoming Art Walk on August 1. The show will be held Downtown at the W.A. Knight building again in the Thief in the Knight Gallery.
