CD Cover Meme - Travis’ Response

I picked up this meme from Joshua Blankenship. What an awesome idea! Some design decisions felt arbitrary since the band itself is made up, but still a fun exercise.
- quotationspage.com/random.php3 The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.
- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random The first article title on the page is the name of your band.
- flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

I seem to have misplaced the link to the original pic, if you happen to see this let me know and I’ll link it up! I helped out the levels a bit as well as adding texture around the piece to compensate for some of the grainy and greyish bits I wasn’t feeling. I then overlayed extra warmth and moved onto typography.
Typography
I thought “Elk Township” deserved some class (why? not sure because I’ve never heard this fictional band’s fictional music), so I went with Big Caslon. To bring back the modern side I applied a healthy dose of Gotham (thanks to Naz and his beautiful work for getting me hooked on this typeface).
