Clients From Hell? Blame Yourself!

Most clients are good. We turn them bad with our behavior. After a challenging day I decided to make this video which focuses on Five Steps to a Better Client Relationship. In a follow-up video, I’ll be discussing how to identify that small percentage of truly bad clients. Enjoy!

I totally agree with you.

Although I think it does vary a bit depending on the budget of clients. In my experience, the lower budgets expect more bang for their buck.

Great video. That is some really sound advice.

@Zach I agree on the different expectations based on budgets. I think that’s a big part of determining good vs. bad clients. How much do they try to negotiate price versus scope. Price conscious clients are always fighting to get the most versus the best.

@Trevor Glad you found value in it!

Great advice, Carl! I agree with every bit, even if I know I fall down on a few of them. As everyone in our company works directly with our clients at some level, we’ve made this video required viewing here. Thanks!

Hi Carson. We all fall down on them, it’s realizing it that I think allows us to get better. Especially when we feel ourselves ignoring our natural tendencies to get mad or give up. I’m flattered that you’ve made it required viewing, that crazy. Next time I’ll try to dress up a little. 8^)

Good video. Honesty is SUCH an important thing! Over promising and basically putting a noose around your own neck is something that seems to happen a lot in the industry.
